Volicity Stacks do or don'tVolicity Stacks do or don'tHi guys just wanted some info on volicity stacks they came with the my bike 66 cb77 before I resotred it and just slaped them on and went for a quick boot and wow there was a big difference for me, should I keep them on or am I running a risk of damaging something, also made no carb adjustments.
Depends on how much riding you do, but if you're wanting this engine to last, I'd use filters.
What about K&N filters? You'd have that additional air flow, and you'd also have the 'protection' of an air filter. With the K&N's, you oil them with this red K&N oil, and that's what helps trap the dirt. Problem with those mesh screens on your stacks is that it's not going to stop the fine particles from getting through. Just my two cents as a non-mechanic, but long time rider..... I have the k&ns on there now and find its a little restricted for air flow, whats alot of riding? I ride the bike for maybe 30km a week if I'm lucky, I guess I can live with the kns, I don't want to kill the motor I just finished restoration not long ago. Thanks for the info this is great site I get alot of help from posts.
photos pleasecould one of you guys find the time to post a pic. of your velocity stacks and or the K&N filter...love to know exactly what they are!
thanks. jarl ---
