No offense, but I don't check this forum daily, so if you feel it was a waste of time for you then fine. I am usually out in the garage working on my bikes, not sitting in the house on the computer. Anyway, I particularly like the wheels. I think the white rims is a nice touch. Not real fond of the exhaust, but that is just my opinion.

Good luck with your next bike.

Keep posting, I think it looks nice! I don't have a Dream, so I have no idea what is right and what isn't. I try to not post replies if I don't know what I am talking about :)

poor mans resto

Post by pineapple dave » Tue Mar 17, 2009 4:22 pm

I too am going CHEAP on my 305 due to a number of reasons mainly MONEY a nd besides a ;little rust is just character. I really like the picture of your white rims and black tires. I have been not thinking out of the box and was just going to get my rims done in black and then buy whitewalls. HOLY CRAP only ones out there are firestone at $117.00 each. Now after looking at your bike with WHITE RIMS and black tires I have decided that is the Poor mans way to go. Blackwalls are a 1/3 the price, and that looks good too. Unfortunatley since I am even doing less of restore then you and have already spent more, anything to keep the cost down is great.

Know what, Howard? That looks really sweeeeeeeeet, especially when compared to the 'before' pics, AND your total expenditure.

Sorry mate, the bloody seat sucks, though. I mean, it does nothing for the profile ~ for me, that is. Great job with the hubs, BTW!

All-in-all, nice one!!

Rgds,

Steve

Thanks Steve, for the kind words, but I hate hate hate 2 up seats and I could'nt find a proper solo seat. My old seat needed recovering so I went this route. Some people think it's got to be a 2 up seat, others want only solo seat. I went in between. To each his own.
