Cable lengths

Post by toastyhamster » Wed Sep 17, 2008 12:04 pm

I'm getting really frustrated with lack of parts availability in the UK, so it looks like ebay International is my best bet for just about everything.

Can somebody tell me the inner and outer length of the clutch cable for a CB72 with standard flat bars? I've measured mine and the outer is around 39" and the inner around 43" but that doesn't match any of the lengths I've seen for auction.

And why oh why is there a rear brake cable for $110 on ebay??!!

My outer is 38", and still, I think, a tad too long.

Are the expensive cables from Asia? Those guys are really starting to cash in on the demand and take the p155 on pricings! I feel a boycott /embargo coming on.....

Yup, their prices are pretty bad and unless I'm really stuck I won't be buying anything from them

Try these people:

http://www.olypen.com/retro/

They are priced right. They ship quickly. The cables look good to me. I have ordered from them twice and now they are the first place I will look. They had front brake, rear brake, clutch and tach cables in stock.

Can't say enough about Terry and Carol Kahler, the people behind RetroBikes and the Olypen link.
They've helped on both my CB77 and a C100 project.
Quick and friendly service, and reasonable prices.
