Correct seat strap mounting

Post by davomoto » Sun Jun 22, 2008 2:46 pm

How does the chrome braket attach to the seat strap on a CB77. I did mine with a chrome phillips head, and a nut behind it, but I am worried that it may tear the seat cover. Does this look correct in the pics? If not, what is the correct way to attach? Thanks in asdvance.

That looks just like the one I have. The projection of the hex head thru bolt makes it not too much pressure. The old stocker, I just looked at, is close, but caused no damage. Maybe less padding in that area?

If yours is a '65 CB77, I believe the strap wraps around the bottom of the seat and fastens on the underside of the seat, with NO buckle.

although my seat is from a 66 i inspected it today and found 2 bolt holes in the seat pan where the strap would bolt to. the bolts are broken off in them so when i recover the seat i will drill and retap the holes.
