Tool Suggestions

Since I have at least one more 305 motor rebuild to do and remembering the fun time I had getting the rings the cylinder on the last one, I am shopping for a small engine ring compressor. I might as well go ahead and get the valve spring compressor while I am at it. Anybody got any vendors or brands they would recommend.

I have the Kowa origional valve spring compressor from the Honda special tools kit. It works well, but they are hard to find. Any middle of the road valve spring compressor should work fine. Heres a pic of mine. I don't use a piston ring compressor, so I can't help on that one.

i had good luck with one i got a couple of years ago at sears. it was an adjustable locking ratchet model and with just a few minor modifications it has worked well for me many times. (at the time i believe it was only around $25.00 ?- bk
