handlbars

Post by Rick S » Wed Jul 09, 2008 7:28 pm

My 66 Hawk does not have the flat bars. It has a scramble type bar that is higher with a cross brace. From several photos that I have got I cannot tell what type of bars it takes. Can someone help me on this. The Honda product guide does not have a clear photo as well, but it seems to be flat bars, but it shows the bike from 61-67 and does not break out the years.

The Hawk came stock with flat bars. Back in the day many of us would replace them with the Scrambler bars for "comfort" or "coolness", I can't remember which. If you switch back to flat bars you will have to change your cables back to shorter cables. BTW, I'm not sure but I believe there is more than one style of flat bars. Others on this board with recent experience will be able to clarify. Hope this helps.

I got my flatbars off of ebay. some dude in thailand is always selling them. the don't look to be an exact fit, but they work plenty well. just ebay search cb77 and you'll see some of the Type I on there.

this looks like a good place to jump in with another question.
what is the length of the original flat superhawk handlebar?

i'd like to cut down some universal drag bars to look correct.
