ca77 coil resistance?

Post by Foose » Wed May 28, 2008 9:29 pm

anyone know what to expect across a coil from a 64 ca 77 late model? (that is, only one set of points, one coil, etc....the "twingle"...) im getting something in the area of 11k ohms, and my newer bikes seem to enjoy around 6k....could this be why she isnt running very happily? thanks for your help.

hi, a "twingle" (twin single) has two pistons sharing one combustion chamber. the dream fires 360 degrees of each other. if you are measuring the resistance of the primary coil(between the positive and negative), it should probably be in the 3-4 ohm range.
good luck.
