1961 CB72 ProjectAfter a long break working on other projects, I have been spurred on with this project when I found a NOS muffler to match th eearly left one I had. This new one was NOS but quite rusty and looks very, very early because it is much lighter and has a very rudimentry middle bracket mount,
I'm hoping it can be rechromed as it is very thin compared to the later type. The 'good' muffler I have, managed to pick up a few storage dents, so I got that stripped ready for a little filling.I used a suitable grade of silver solder to fill the dings after consultation with the chrome platers It's going to take quite a while before they are replated but at least I can sit back and let someone else do the work. Now I have to get motivated to finish off the seat and one or two other details. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

Thanks for the kind words. I have not been entirely away from 305 stuff. I have been helping with the restoration of this 1963 CYP77 police bike. Lots of unusual details on this bike. 360 degree engine, 17 inch wheels, oddball indicators and all of the police paraphernalia.... The project was scattered all over several barns so it was quite a challenge finding the correct parts. G

If it weighs less that stock it is one of the early re pops. ..............lm
I just picked up my fettled and re-chromed, early style, mufflers.
The right one, as LM pointed out, is an rearly reproduction one but I have another 'genuine' one that I need to do some work on. This one will do for now. I'm pleased with the way they both turned out. I have the rubber sleeves and baffles to finish them off. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
