Oil leak between Oil seal and carter

Post by Ericvanrijn » Mon Oct 12, 2015 12:58 pm

After a rebuild I did the first run of my C77 this weekend. The engine runs smoothly! After a couple of minutes I shut the engine down for inspection and found out that there is a oil leak between the oil seal behind the gear of the driven chain and the carter. I replaced all the seals incuding this one during the rebuild. I also know that I cleaned the carter space where the seal must be placed. Can someone give me some help with this? Must I apply some silicone seal between the seal and the carter? Any advise will help, thanks!

Shouldn't need any sillycone on the seals, justnmake sure all surfaces are clean, and put a little oil on.
