Ring part #'s and Cylinder Honing?

Post by tkekfs » Sat Dec 02, 2006 1:21 pm

Does anyone out there know the correct part number for 1965 CA77 piston rings standard size?
The part list I have show two different numbers 13010-266-000 and 13012-275-000.
I am concerned that one of the numbers relates to pre 1964 dreams only and don't want to buy the wrong set.

Also how important is it to have my cylinders honed if I am not boring them but am replacing the rings. They are rust free and don't have grooves.
Where would I take a set of cylinders to have them honed? (I am in Dayton Ohio if anyone knows of a specific shop that would be great).

Many Thanks.

13010-266-000 is for up to engine #0210151. (Thick rings)
13010-275-000 is for #0036731 and later. (discontinued)
13011-275-300 is for #0100099 and later. (currently listed as backordered but probably NLA)
13012-275-000 is for #0036780 and later.

The first number and last number are the only ones still available from Honda at this time.

Always hone the cylinder when you're replacing the rings.
