Great set of pictures. It looks as if you have some sort of crank mounted ignition system (which?) and a new alternator cover. Do you have a new cover because the ignition system won't fit inside the standard cover or just because you like the look of the finned cover.

Pictures please of the fitted unit plus more details, especially a report of how it compares with the standard points / contact breaker set up when you get the out on the road (street)

I fancy a more modern system myself but to be fair the standard system isn't causing me a problem, plus with me riding both a CB and a CL regularly I would want to convert BOTH bikes at double the cost. This is hard to justify without very definite benefits.
Thanks. German-made Sasche ignition. New alt cover I made-original was cracked-wanted something different. Sasche system about $300.

I see you have the late style clutch with the extra oil hole, too.

Is that with your rebuilt crank and re-profiled cylinder head?

Thanks, Graham. I had some play in sprocket/basket, so I had take apart and correct; also took a light clean-up cut on the OD of basket - un finished od slightly not concentric with other machined surfaces. Hopefully a little smoother operation.
Yes, the 360 Dream crank now a 180 Super Hawk crank installed; Yes, head with polished ports, also did a lot of casting clean up on head and block, also took a clean up cut on gasket surfaces both sides, cases and covers.
I had to drop down about one mm re-profiling combustion chambers, also had to drop valves seats accordingly; this effectively lowered compression, so I installed Kenig higher domed pistons. From calculations, should give me approx. 10:1; plugs clear everything well, also heli-coiled plug threads - on the mill, of course - bored the hole, rather than drilling it for the tap drill size.
