Thanks - I don't mind seeing them, I like easy access. I used the oil manometer on my Kawasaki ZRX 1200 R, it had CV carbs on it, too, but they were not too sensitive - worked well.

I did some plating yesterday [brake parts]; also made a front wheel collar and some swing arm pivot bolt washers, S/S; got the sprocket on, but the cover plate was warped, so I had to add some button screws to it.

My K&N filters arrived today - ordered them direct from mfr., p/n RC 0790. The tech at K&N said they will flow 100cfm each. I will oil them when ready to put in service.

Have you considered buying a used starter motor wire from ebay just for the grommet you need? They're listed from $9 upward. Just a thought.

Thanks - can't wait to see end result myself - that' why I call it "slowly but surely".

I may have to go to e-bay for the terminal cover - got the grommet covered. The only problem with 50 year old rubber parts is they are usually dried out and cracked. I may try to find a cover for a garden tractor app, as the wire is 6ga.

I installed a Sigma bicycle speedometer to my Kaw, and now they make them wireless. They have odo, trip odo, time, speed, avg speed, max speed. I plan to use one for this project. I designed and machined the bracket for the AutoMeter temp gage, as well - I really like their products. I plan to mount the AutoMeter tach centered above the headlight, and the Sigma offset, closer to bars.
