Sounds great, i'd like to read it. I'm not really in to the whole engineering and technical aspects of engines. I love riding and wrenching on bikes, and love to learn more about them.

Hi,

Don't forget that the momentum (torque) decreases when the stroke gets shorter,
also don't forget the limited speed of the flame front which is a physical given constant.

The flamefront has to travel the distance from spark plug to the corners of the combustion chamber to burn all the fuel, of this distance is to big, you'll end up with unburned fuel. (this is the reason that the best place of the spark plug is in the middle of the combustion chamber).

Of course squish area's are helping with making the fuel burn faster, but there are limits.

Faster burning means other fuels,
