Simple mods to add HP?My hang up was that I thought all the CB450's had a linked carb. One of those that had a plate and a common thottle that was run by a single cable. I took a look on ebay and saw that the earlier ones used a cable for each. Makes more sense now.
Do you have a suggestion as to where to start with jetting?
Another thing you could look into would be K&N filters. But, you'll probably then need to look into rejetting as they will tend to lean things out. I just put them on mine and I do notice a difference in terms of performance, plus I was running a bit rich with the Amals and these filters seem to put the plugs in the right spot now.
At least the nice thing about these types of mods (pipe, filters, etc) is that it's all 'bolt on', and you could easily convert it back to stock configuration if you (or the next owner) wanted. Of course, don't forget to hold onto all those stock parts you took off!
