Leaking oil bottom end

It's difficult to guess from 5000 miles....... you should have gone to Specsavers.

That guys is a joke and only folk living in the Uk will understand.

Now FAB60 dont talk to me about oil leaks I have replaced all the oil seals on the right hand side 5 of them I understand so many times and still it leaked I have a idea the new modern oil seals are not as good or same as the original Honda seals, at the moment my engine is in the state of complete stripdown.

Has your engine been stripped down by someone else if so then he or she may have not used the right gasket glue on the crank cases the person that did my engine use red Hermatite and it was all in the engine not a good thing.

A little history about the bike like how long have you owned it has it been restored ect.

As a starter if you can not find were it is leaking take off the right hand side cover thats the side were the clutch cable go's in and let us know what you find there should be no oil in there apart from what has been on the rear chain or the engine breather and that should not be much.

Ok will do! I have never taken the clutch cover off so I'm hoping I don't have to drain the oil. I'll try to do it this weekend and take photos as well. Thanks everyone thus far for the help/suggestions.

The cover with the clutch cable is not the clutch cover. The clutch is on the other side. There is no oil associated with the right hand cover. It covers the alternator and drive chain.

Don't forget the vent from the head cover is routed to this area around the front drive sprocket. My ca-77 was leaking oil in this area and it turned out to be the head cover plate was installed backwards and let the vent hose take oil as well as air from the top of engine and dump it in the sprocket area. Makes a mess after a hard ride of just a few miles.

Swardlaw.....yes , it seems like after a hard ride it leaks oil....maybe ill look into this as well!
