Cl77 points cam

Post by CFL » Wed May 22, 2013 8:22 pm

Just bought a replacement points camshaft. It has twin lobs. Is that correct? I thought a 305 cl77 only has one lob on the points camshaft. Thanks a million CFL

Thank you for the reply. The lobs are set in the normal area about 100 and 200 degrees. Does my cl77 305 have the same points cam? If so, do the dual points open at the same time? Thank you for the help. Sincerely, CFL

Did you compare it to the original?
It's a points cam and the coil fires when the cam opens the points.
Once open and the coil has fired "no big deal" with these as the dwell has been satisfied and you are good for another go round. ..... .......lm

It's the same cam. It will just fire on an empty cylinder. Thanks again, CFL
