Source for quality engine gasket kitSource for quality engine gasket kitI have seen a lot of various aftermarket gasket kits.
Does anyone have real world experience with a particular kit or supplier? I am a bad enough mechanic on my own, I don't want to worry about substandard gaskets. Thanks! I've used a couple of these with good success. I have not used the head gasket from this kit however because I have some OEM head gaskets, but I'll bet it would work fine. He has seal kits too that are good. Good guy to deal with.
-48 http://www.disastermotors.com/collectio ... kets/honda I bought a complete top end gasket set with O rings, head gasket and all required packings from Western Hills Honda - everything OEM Honda. Twas pretty expensive as I recall and if I'm honest I might've just ordered the OEM head gasket and gone aftermarket on the rest.
'63 CA77 - Giving me all kinds of headaches.
'64 CA77 - Patiently waiting it's turn '65 CB77 - A 'great winter project' House has it right... Another thing to keep in mind with gaskets and seals is that Honda hasn't made any of the gaskets for our 305's for probably more than 20 years. I've gotten a couple NOS gaskets that were expensive and arrived pretty crunchy. The OEM head gaskets have a long shelf life, but the others not so much if they weren't stored properly.
The aftermarket gasket and seal kits from Disaster Motors are fresh and pretty accurate compared to the Honda parts as long as you can live with the different colors! -48
