where to get machine work done on head?

Post by hoodooman » Sun Mar 27, 2011 9:33 pm

hi guys,
i picked up a second 305 engine. it needs a complete valve job. i asked my local napa machine shop if they can do the work, and they said they can't because it's too small. Where can i get the seats cuts and new valve guides installed? also, where can i get new oversized valves and springs that are genuine honda?

Thanks for the help in advance

These guys can do the work:

http://www.qande.com

Please note: I can't vouch for anything .. they just said they can do a valve job on my CB-550. They quoted $245 on up for the above motor valve job and port cleanup. No idea on a 305 rate.

Ask for Vance Qualls

Hoodoman, where are you located? I take mine to Best Machine in San Rafael Ca. Last one I took him was $125, valves and seats cut, mating surface machined.

i'm in ohio, noone around here that i can't find to do the work! if i could just find some new valves, i think that would be good enough. the seats may not need cut, just cleaned.

Ya are new to this forum and we don't know where are actually located so how in this world would this forum be able to offer a location of help with what ya will ever want help with?
BTW new valves will not fix any problem until the valve seats in the head have been cut to the matching contact surface of the valve when installed.
Head/valve contacts must be matched!!!!!!!!!!!.
SIMPLE like WHAT!!!!!. ....LM
