Who will rebuild my motor?

Post by banksc1970 » Tue Jul 06, 2010 7:06 pm

I have my bike apart in the basement and have been cleaning up all the parts in the sand blast cabinet. I would love to re-do the motor myself, but I just don't have the time (wife gets mad when I spend more time working on the bike than with her). Can anyone hook me up with someone who I can ship my motor to for a rebuild? By the way I am not picky or doing a "correct" resto. I just want a smooth running dependable machine. This will be for a cafe racer and I will probably have the thing sprayed flat black when it is done. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as usual!

Forgot to mention that it is a 305 motor off a '65 superhawk.

Since you're in Southern Ohio, I'd pay a visit to the good folks at Western Hills Honda in Cincinnati. Talk to Terry or Herschel, and if they can't do the work, they can probably point you in the direction of someone who could.

If you have time, Vintage Motorcycle Days is happening this weekend in Lexington at the Mid-Ohio Race Course. Well worth the visit!

Thaks for the props Deez! Ohio is a big shipping expense from California. Ed Moore in Texas must be closer, or hopefully you can find someone local that is trustworthy.
