CB125 Sport or CB160 ?

I'm searching for info on a Honda model a friend had in the 1960's that doesn't seem to exist on any of the usual archive websites.
It was a 1964 or 1965 twin 125, model was a "CB125 Sport" with twin carbs, telescopic forks,red tank and frame, silver fenders, electric start (basically a look-alike to the CB160). It was purchased in Alberta, second hand in the summer of 1966. Did this bike exist or was it a tank-rebadged CB160? We could ride up to 125cc machines between the ages of 14 and 16 at that time and I wonder if this was done to fool the license bureau. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If The model years you give are correct, it must have been a CB160. The only 125s with telescopic forks of that era were the CL125A and the SS125A, neither of which were released until 1967 and both of which had a single carb. Now, I am speaking from Stateside model knowledge, but that early on I can't imagine Canada getting a much different model lineup.

Then again, there is a 1964 Japan domestic model Benly CB125 on display at the Honda Museum in Togechi. Don't know how many carbs it had, though.

If the cam chain is in the middle (between the cylinders) it is a CB125 / CB93. The product code is 216. The CB160 /CB96 is identical except for displacement and the product code is 217.

Yeah, there was a CB125 / CB93 125cc twin, with a central camchain - it was a forerunner of the CB160. Not many about, but a few got to the states, Australia & through Asia. Don't think they got to the UK or Europe.

I have a set of NOS barrels if anyone needs a set.

I know that this is a little late for a post on this thread, but while looking for parts for my CB160, I discovered the CB175 K0 which seems to be another incarnation of this model. CMS in Holland list it in their spare parts. Model code 235 it seems to share a lot with the CB125 and CB160 twins.

The Early CB175 (sloper engine) is a very pretty bike, but I'm fairly certain that they didn't make it to the US - hence hard to get parts for. They were available here in Australia (I have a freid with 3-4 of them), but unsure if they made it to Europe - I suspect not.

I have a CL175 (first model - sloper engine), which is Rare in Australia, but less so in the US....... Just about to finish it's restoration for the VJMC National rally coming up in a few weeks......
