Questions about parts for a CA160Questions about parts for a CA160Hello,
I figured this would be a good place for advice. I'm wondering if I should order parts from Thailand, I'm weary of the idea, but I can't seem to find the parts anywhere but on EBay and so Thailand. Has anyone here been ripped off? Also, my CA is an early 160, would a CA 95 headlight and speedometer fit? 160 parts have been hard to locate. Thanks for any help, Chuck Chuck
I have had parts from Thailand and they have been generally good. However, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Just tread carefully and don't expect miracles. As for the other parts, you need to check the numbers. Model code for CA160 is 225, CA95 is 206 and CA92 is 203. My CA160 parts book shows that the headlamp pressing is 61301-215-000 which means that it's from a C3A 92 (Benly). The actual headlamp is numbered 33120-203-000 which means that it's from the earlier CA92. Speedo is 37200-215-008 which means that is also a C3A 92 part. You should be OK with CA92 parts. (C3A 92 just means a late version of CA92 or 95 ) Good luck G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

do the mathLet's see, say the drill can wind the speedo up to 30 mph going the right direction...so it would rewind the odometer 30 miles for every hour of drilling, right?
Somebody please correct me if I'm thinking about this wrong, I'm not speaking from practical experience. '62 CB77. "It's a rider."
Just curious what you are hacksawing on the headlight?
Most body parts from the CA95 fit right on the CA160. I have a couple CA95 parts bikes that I take parts from now and then for my CA160. Be careful buying used speedos. I had 4 in my parts bin and none of them lasted more than 20 miles before setting up and breaking the cables. I ended up getting a $20 bicycle speedo and it works just great, plus has all the cool functions like avg speed, top speed, etc. If you get one, post here. It has to be mounted a special way with the CA type forks. Note that nearly all the speedos on ebay are in Kilometers. The headlights can be very hard to find too. The 305 dream ones are too big. Good Luck. They are great little bikes. I ride mine in the East Coast Motogiros every year, as never let me down.
