Honda C200
Seeing there's still allot of interest in this thread I'll post the pictures of the new seat cover I just installed on the C200.
I've had the seat cover for a few days but I had a little fight with a truck in my shop this past week and the truck won and I ended up with seven stitches in my right thumb area so after all of that I was a little to sore to tackle the seat but after looking at it in the bag for the past few days I had to get'er done. Although the old seat cover was ok It looked a bit crubby considering everything else on the bike looked as new condition so I wanted to replace the cover. Anyway I was lucky with this seat. The foam was great and so was the seat pan. It just need a little cleaning and a small squirt of black paint and it was ready to case. I purchased the cover from a Canadian seller on Ebay and I have to say that I was more than impressed with the quality. The fit was perfect and the strap even had an inner belt of nylon in it for strength. The workmanship was just simply outstanding so it made for an easy install. I basically just removed the old cover. Straightened out the bending tabs on the seat frame. Mother Honda had a collar on each side of the original seat strap so figuring Mother Honda Knows best I removed them and installed them on the new strap. In the pictures you'll see the punch I used to put the holes in the strap and the finished product. After some of the Asian parts I received that I was less than happy with it was nice for a change to get something that exceeded my expectations. Thanks everyone for your interest. The bike is now 100% completed. Ride safe, Paul 1964 CT200

Here's a little more on my C200 'Bobber' progress. I got a new crated 150cc engine for my C200 off ebay the other day. It's a Honda compatible Zongshen upright 150cc. Yeah i know i should be putting the 90cc back in, but it always looks like there's a lot of daylight in the frame that needs to be filled and a 90cc dont fill it! Besides, this engine/trans gives me an extra gear in 1 down, 4 up config. I also got a nice white vinyl saddle seat with 3" springs to give it a cool 62 Dream look and ive just completed sandblasting the frame, swingarm and forks and primered them. Ive got a tin of jet black enamel waiting to be shot as soon as i do the engine mount mods to the frame. Pics will follow. There's some nice chrome forks on the way to be installed on my new chrome rims. I did think about painting the rims red, but i had the chromies already ordered. I'll be making my own exhaust for this bike and im thinking of putting black exhaust wrap on it for 2 reasons, firstly; protecting my leg from the heat of a 150cc engine as i dont have a decent exhaust guard for it, and the second....they look so bad and cool with wrap!! Im considering upgrading the rear shocks and i might have to use another speedo that will match the extra speed the 150cc will propel the thing! Im customising this bike, so im not worried about originality. My thinking is everyone customises big cc Harley's and the like and not these smaller bikes, so here's one man's attempt to be different. cheers till later, glen.
Thanks Cecil. It's kind of funny though because the guy who used to own the General Motors dealership I worked for stops in all the time over the years and loves looking at the stuff I've restored. Every time I do a bike he'll say "Gee I think that's my favorite one" Then the next one comes along and says it again. For me I don't have a favorite. I like them all in for different reasons.
Glen your going to have one very interesting bike by the time you get it completed. Sure won't be to many on the road the same as it for sure. You should consider starting a thread on here so you can log each stage of the process. Sure makes it all interesting reading especially with the type of project you have in mind. Thanks again. When Honda stated that you meet the nicest people on a Honda he wasn't kidding. Since I started collecting these old bikes I've run across a few guys that were great to deal with. One of them is a regular on this site and the other one I purchased a NOS muffler from for the C200 this past week. In both cases these guys actually shipped out the items before they even received payment and that's not something you hear about everyday.
Anyway my muffler on the C200 was in great shape except for a small dent on the very bottom of it so when I got the chance to get a new one I jumped at it so tomorrow I will replace it. 1964 CT200
