Thanks, that's just the kind of input I was looking for...having two different experts you respect tell you two different things can be confusing.

Anybody else?

I know my transmission is in perfect shape, rebuilt by best 305 mechanic on either side of the Mississippi (maybe a little hyperbole here, no offense meant to any other great mechanics here or elsewhere.)

I guess just need to practice shifting with authority, and counting gears going down to avoid that false neutral between second and third.
