I am a computer guy by day and a newbie mechanic on the side. I have a new set of Kendas on the way as well as new front pegs and grips. I love the look of this vintage bike. Glad to see there is such a great following.

The throttle on my early style dream was also sticky but it had nothing to do with the cable. It was almost entirely caused by old, sticky grease in the twist assembly at the handlebar. I took it apart and used some emory cloth and some fresh grease and it's smooth as silk now. Snaps back without any binding.

Update:

Replaced the throttle cable as the other had a pretty nasty kink in it when I finally got it apart. Smooth operation now

Holding off on the electronic ignition until I can get a proper engine rebuild this winter.

Installed new difusers which really made the dream purr.

Replaced a dead taillight and neutral light.

The Dream is running smooth now. It does take a few mins to warm up after sitting a few days but the engine sounds strong. The semester is finally over and now I can spend some quality time with my vintage ride. It already turns heads when I take it around the neighborhood already. Can't wait to see if after a full detail. I will post pics soon.
