Hi everybody,

I bought a Dream off a member of the Forum who's also from the Philippines. He tried restoring the bike was unable to complete the project and decided to sell the bike instead.

The bike has been with me for a year but just started restoration a month ago. Reason to this is, I wanted to pay off the money that my brother loaned me to purchase the bike. Also, I wanted to collect parts first so that it wouldn't take me too long too have the bike restored after disassembling it.

I got most of the external (non-engine) parts already but is still on the hunt for front winkers (ones that clip on the bike's handlebar).

I didn't want to gamble my way off the the restoration so I decided to get professional help dismantling the engine. After that was done I found out that I needed to buy more parts. I started my hunt for parts, mostly ending up buying them off ebay and paying for shipping from the US to the Philippines (expensive!!!)

Based on the last update from my mechanic, the only things I need are standard cylinder sleeves, tensioner and a gasket set.

I had the bike painted ferrari red (I bought the bike colored metalic maroon with a silver racing stripe from front to back).

I'll post pictures later when I get home.

Pictures of parts that I've collected prior to the tear down of the bike (I wish I'd known about the engine parts I needed so that I would have prioritized them). Most of the parts I got where external (cosmetics).

Most of the parts I got were from ebay. Got lucky on some bids. :)

I bought;
Horn- The bike had a replacement horn that's for newer models

Steering Damper Knob- I wanted the one that had a grip on it. The bke came with the round ones that I do not usually see on Dreams.

Tail light- Had to buy correct taillight. The previous owner used one from a different model which was customized to fit the Dream.

Switch with Keys- Old one did not come with keys and was badly repaired to turn bike on and off.

Side Cover Knob- Old ones had cracked knobs

Purchased more parts for the bike after the first batch. Here they are;

Oil Dipstick- Bike did not come with one. The previous owner had one made from aluminum shaped into a cap.

Carburetor- Bike came with Carb for a honda TMX 155cc

Clutch adn brake cable- Old cables' rubber coating were already chipping off. Chrome tube was already rusted beyond restoration.

Kick start side crankcase cover- Bike came with one where the clutch cable went out from the rear end and went into the side cover. The previous owner drilled a hole on top so that the cable can pass through.

Condenser- Bike came with superhawk condenser

New Paint Job

After the bike was dismantled, I got the parts that needed to be painted from the mechanic. My sister (based in NY) requested that I had the bike painted red. I was actually thinking the same because almost all Dreams restored here were painted black (with one excemption, I saw one that came in a light shade of green)

Checked out my options (shades of red) and chose Ferrari red which was the closest one to stock. Also, it was brightest of the options.

I noticed that the bike had multiple layers of paint applied to it. It also had alot of cracks ont eh newest layer. So, I had the bike stripped down to metal, primered and painted.

The bikes carb cover was painted black. The fender bracket and handlebar clamp were painted silvery grey.

I stripped the paint off and polished them.
