Hello,
My name is Kristof and I live in Belgium. After restoring a honda cb125k4, my next project will be a honda cb 72 (framenr: cb721005375, motor: cb72E-1005375). My knowledge of motorcycles (and english ;) is limited so a little help from you guys will be priceless. The books from Bill Silver helped me a lot in the meantime.
Here are some pictures:
Like I bought it last week:

Looks like you've got a nice start for a project! A lot of kilometers on that bike, someone has enjoyed it! Your english is good, and we'll be glad to help, just ask away!

Thx davomoto!
So my first problem. One of the exhausts is in one piece(original) the other in two pieces (also a honda). I Would like to buy two new ones from david silver spares.
On his website he mentions this : Exhaust silencer and downpipe assembly, Left hand (USA models from frame No. CB72 1007143). Will they fit depending my frame number?
What does he mean with 'left hand'? Is this te left exhaust?

HONDA issued 2 styles of the flange.
The early ones were for the 2 piece exhaust.
When the one piece exhaust came along (sort of like your welded right side) the hole was made larger to fit over the engine end of the header and the 2 clams were changed to the CL72/77 type with the raised edge.
There are no right or left flanges.
As I've known these bikes either the one piece or two piece design fits any CB72/77 no matter the issue.
Yes there are right and left side mufflers. ..................................lm

thank you LM. I have contacted David Silver spares why there is only a left handed exhaust mentioned on the website. No answer yet.
