Color decision

I am going to start the resto on my '66 Superhawk. I wanted to make sure that the engine was fine before going in deep.

I planned to go with the low bars andblack/silver color, but since it was originally red I may go back to red. I like the black scheme but also have seen the red which looks really nice also. Is one color more desirable than the other?

The engine runs really well and upon removal of the clutch cover it is surprisingly clean inside.

Finally had some time this weekend to disassemble my CB77. I have decided to go with the red again. Maia's bike inspired me. Here's where I'm at.http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7017/6502 ... 768f89.jpg

Today is my bday and I received some parts for the resto: Low bars, grips, misc items from Tim McDowell and the best one is the cush drive clutch from LM. The clutch really exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend this!

I am now deciding if I should powdercoat the frame and swinger or paint. Def going with pro painting on the tank, side covers and fenders. Blasted the center stand ( that was CRUDDY) and epoxy coated black today. Very happy to have 2 blasters at work!

I would recommend powdercoat as it will resist solvent (ie: gasoline). Not sure if you can get the correct color in a powdercoat though. All my bikes are black so it was an easy choice for me. I'm surprised the centerstand isn't the same color as the frame. Are you sure that's correct?
