Webster NY Dream ProjectWebster NY Dream ProjectWell, here it is. My first pre-1970 motorcycle. I've done (7) bikes in the last few years, but they've all been dirt bikes. This is my first road bike, so I gotta get my bike license endorsement back. I lost it in license renewals going from state to state about 15 years ago. The bike's a little crusty and definitely gonna take me a year plus. Engine is stuck, rear rim is almost completely void of Chrome. It appears to be pretty much complete, except a set of mirrors. Gotta get some literature on this one. Pipes look really good with no apparent rust on them :) . I think I'll try to document the cost of this resto here and as I go along, pic and cost....Starting cost: $250
> Can anyone ID this before I start? Engine numbers: CA77E-3161xx > Hey, are those lights or reflectors on the bags? > Suggestion on what parts CD would be best? > First order of business: Take off the bags, roll this puppy into my wife's kitchen and down the stairs into my "office". Gonna take two of us and the wife's not volunteering. What kinda weight are we talking? This gal even came with a front fairing! 102_3479 by nestwoodmotors, on Flickr 102_3480 by nestwoodmotors, on Flickr 102_3481 by nestwoodmotors, on Flickr 102_3482 by nestwoodmotors, on Flickr 102_3483 by nestwoodmotors, on Flickr Welcome...looks like the first thing you will need is a set of snow treads!
Engine number looks like a '63 What is the frame #?...should be near the driver left footpeg mount stamped vertically The bags look to be Buco and the lights are probably real and probably worth the price of the bike. They were universal for several makes including BMW, Harley, Honda etc. The bike prob weighs 350+ lbs There are several online sites that have parts fiche....., cmsnl, bike bandit, westernhillshonda and others. I got the printed parts and resto manuals offered on this site and have been well satisfied with them. How bout some pics of the fairing? 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
Here's the pic of the fairing. The very ugly blue paint is scratched and the shield is gone. Pretty bad picture. The seller said it came on the bike originally. If you think this is possible, I'll take a few more pics of both sides.
102_3484 by nestwoodmotors, on Flickr I see the number on the frame but with some flaking paint it's very difficult to read. When I get the bike into my "office" and start the tear down, I'll get a better idea. Thanks for the info on the weight. Guess my wife's not gonna be the one helping me on this one! Looks like the lights on the bags were never wired up. Found the key inside on of the bags - bonus! Not familier with that fairing, but it does show a rectangular shaped hole for the headlight which is interesting.
Honda did not offer fairings or hard bags as far as I know for the CA72,77's, just windshields, leg shields, and soft bags, along with a bunch of other stuff. Probably worth doing some research on the fairing....maybe Buco, Wixom, Shoei, Bates???? 66 dream, 78 cb750k, 02fz1, 09 wing
