1964 Superhawk ProjectA month has already passed since my last report and I've made very little progress. It's just too cold in my workshop. In installing new handlebars and re-attaching the clutch cable, I found my old right side crankcase cover was cracked. A replacement was found and a new bronze kick start bushing installed. It's now ready for paint, along with the starter chain cover, but they both must sit until it's warmer. I might just take the starter motor off to paint at the same time.
Another year is ending and I wish all of you a very happy and productive new year.
I offer the same wish for you and all others on the forum. ..................lm
The poor old '64 has set in my garage all winter sans the right side cover and starter motor. This past week I managed to get everything painted and today I reassembled all the bits and took her out for her first startup of the season. I'll be riding as soon as the temperatures rise.
All done: Video of the first startup. The new side cover makes the other side look pathetic. Its day will come soon. Looking good!
