The one bike I wish I hadn't parted with was a Yamaha RD250LC (RZ in the USA?). It's what we Brits called a 'stink wheel' and I don't think that they were sold in the USA because of EPA rules etc.

It was just a lightweight bike that caused a massive grin while riding and it looked pretty good too. I never tried the 350 but I imagine that it was just more of the same.

You could always buy a Laverda 750SF. It's just an italian Superhawk tribute....... :-)

G-Man,
Thanks for the car show pics. It's great to see what "floats your boats" across the pond. Looks like car and bike lovers are the same everywhere. BTW, that red MG in pics 53 & 54 and several others isn't an MGB-GT but actually an MGC-GT. The raised bump on the bonnet indicates it has an inline six and not the four in the "B." I'm no expert on British cars but have been tinkering with them for over 40 years. My user ID is short for Austin Healey enthusiast, ahenthus.
Cheers,
Claude

Hadn't realised that I'd linked to the cars but I see now. I have spent a little time in SC and a friend of a friend near Atlanta has an Austin Healy 3000 and an MG Midget.

I'm leaning towards another Hawk, an NT650 (Bros), which I talked about earlier. I'm liking it more and more as I research it. Really cool bike, as is it's name sake. It's another "collectible", or becoming one, but I will be riding it if I purchase one.

I'm about to put a thread on the "Electrical" forum. The Old Girl has ceased to charge her battery.

G-Man,
I was president of the Atlanta Chapter of the Austin Healey Club of America in 2000 and 2001 so I may know your Atlanta friend. I also had an MG Midget at that time.

Sara,
I've enjoyed reading your build thread for the last two years and look forward to reading your new posts. I didn't intend to hijack your thread by commenting on G-Man's posts but now that it's closed out I guess it's a moot point.

Claude, that's perfectly okay! I'm a car buff, too, but I have no special favorites. Other than maybe late 60's Mopar muscle cars. :)

Thank you for the kudos! I'm glad to hear that there is another person on the forum that I didn't bore to death with my epic novel. I have to admit, it is LONG!

I'm in the process of determining what is wrong with the charging system in the Old Girl. The posts are in the electrical forum. While I was fooling with the charging system, I went ahead and removed the petcock to find out what's going on with it. Well, it was full of crud - paint chips, bits of rubber, some dirt. I thought the inside of my gas tank was clean, too. Anyway, the other issue was that the standpipe I used in it was slightly too small an OD, and it had slipped down to the bottom of the hole it lives in and blocked the fuel passage. So, now I have to chase down the proper diameter standpipe. I fixed the valve, it was that trash I mentioned blocking ports and so forth, and that part now works properly.

If I keep this up I might have an old bike that has absolutely no old bike issues sometime in the future!
