Yep, two different types, you have an early style gasket on a later style barrel. : (

Hi Dick
Thanks! Good to hear from you. I hope everything is going well. Always in April is going to be here pretty soon. Are you bringing anything?

Hi Steve,
Bummer about the gasket, went through a couple re-do's on the CB77 last year too! Yes April is approaching fast and I do have a '63 CL72 to take. Won't be a resto like the CB, just a running riding project for someone else. I've got a three day weekend and need to get on this to get it ready.

Good score on the '79 CBX and the CB1100!

Re: Oil Leak Problem Figured Out

Yes.
You have the early issue which was used with the 8 hole cylinder where the oil went direct to the LS stud and cross over on the cylinder.
The correct gasket for your engine has 9 holes. ...................lm

Finally, after two long weeks of waiting, my gasket finally showed up. Two weeks to get here from Texas. I figured it would take the usual 3 to 5 days at the longest to get here. I ordered a mud flap for the 1100 from the UK that got here in less time. I will never make that mistake again.

Now that's more like it!

I put the motor back together today and I hope to have it mounted back on the bike tomorrow. I am looking forward to posting a video of it sitting there running nicely once I get everything buttoned back up.

As usual, nice work, Steve. Can't wait for the video.
