So it's sounding like I have an "early" stem and a "late" bridge plate... and the blue bridge plate I have is an "early" one, but I can't use it because it has those big captive nuts (the right name is escaping me now... ) on the bottom of it that would interfere with the top of the forks. ? ugh.
