CL77 projectFinally got the engine out of the frame ready to open up.
The only problem was a broken idler wheel. The shaft broke and the screws backed themselves out and fell to the sump. I was able to fish them and the washers out with a magnet. I'm hoping the end of the shaft will be in the sump and I can reach it when I pull the oil pump. Pistons and rings look good (new rings on order). Head looks good although pretty oil and carboned up. Will clean up nicely with a valve lap. Cylinders look good....no scratches. A hone and they'll good to go. A question for the collective. I'll be replacing the oil seals in the bottom. I figure I'll drill a small hole in each, thread in a screw and pull them out. Is there another technique out there that others are using to get them out? Thanks. Rock on. Another small step of progressFinally go the oil pump out and as luck would have it the missing shaft end dropped out onto the bench. All missing parts are accounted for.
