We today I received my new exhaust and got it installed. Now I know there are the die hard Dream collectors out there that would settle for nothing less than the original look but I like a little custom twist to just about everything I do and these pipes are just what the doctor ordered. I will have to make a bracket to attach to the bike to make the install stronger which I'll do in the spring. I'm still waiting on the rear rack and shock nuts to come back from the rechromers. I attached a few pics to view. If anyone out there wants a good deal on the Apex pipes which apex is now sold out of send me an email. Paul

I never considered that style of muffle for my bike but now that I see them install, well it really works great on the Dream.

Paul, The new mufflers look great! They really take to your bike - a super nice deviation from stock, and done with great taste! Thank you for posting all those photos; it has been a real treat!!!

I've been receiving some emails about the my Dream and if it is running. Other questions related to how it sounds with the Apex mufflers on it so I found a short video I took the very first time I started the beast as I was putting it all back together. You'll notice that there's no gas tank on her because I didn't want to put fuel in the tank knowing I was going to store the bike with the rest of the collection so I used a fuel line attached to a small bottle to feed the engine. Also remember this is the first time the bike has started and I had to make some minor adjustments to it after to get it right. These mufflers has internal baffles that are NOT removable so the bike runs quiet with them on. I've since replace the Apex mufflers due to there poor build and visual quality with another type (Fish Tail) that are of a very good quality and perfect finish.

Keep in mind that the bike is also on a motorcycle lift in a two bay shop that has some eco and with it on it's double stand that changes the sound a bit as well but It will give you all an idea how it sounds. I did however have to change the starter rollers shortly after this video because they started to slip and make that usual terrible grinding noise which was an easy fix.

I know this is kind of putting the cart before the horse but I had to figure out how to convert the video file over before I could post it on here. I just thought some of you might find it interesting. Enjoy, Paul

Very nice work on the bike Paul. You beat me to the punch on the mufflers. I had a set of those rocket mufflers on my old Harley. When I replaced them with a newer set, I placed one of them on my Dream and knew it would be just right for my mild custom.

Going through some old articles last night and came across this one. They said the Dream had allot of nice features including electric start but at the end of the review they said the Dream didn't handle well. This is the first time I've heard that said about the Dream. Just thought some of you might find that interesting.
