1961 CB72 ProjectGot a few minutes to get the gears welded this morning. After a bit of tidying up they had a trial run in the case. The two gears line up nicely and ran freely, so that is a result.
Nice to have a good spline which matches the original. These will go for zinc plating along with a bucket of other parts and I should be able to assemble my two early covers when the parts come back all bright and shiny... G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

Here are the kickstart parts I was working on. My new shaft is a good snug fit in the case. And here are the long-awaited parts to finish off my refurbished cam-chain tensioners. G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

A few years ago, I thought I was taking early retirement, so I set myself the challenge of restoring several of these bikes as a batch. and amassed a few 'projects'. The '61 CB72 is the exception now and will be completed first. However, when I get the chance, I just just go through my boxes and do parts for the complete inventory..... When I've completed the project bikes there will be a pile of restored spares left over which I can release back into the 'pool'. :-) That darned 'work' thing keeps getting in the way for the time being.... I do have a CB160 and a CL175K0 lurking in the restoration queue, too...... :-) G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
