In the beginning
The yellow is a 1967 Corvette color called "Sunrise Yellow". This was my first effort at a bike and didn't want to spend a pile of money on correct exhaust etc when I didn't really know what I was doing; so I just did it to please me. What really sets the bike apart (other than the color) is the pin-stripping done by a local legend, John Hannukaine. He tried to do it like it might have been done in the 60's. Glad you like it.
Small Dreams, I spent months trying to find a color code or color match for my Candy O
range. I finally got a Dupont rep to take my tank and get a match for the paint under the knee pads which was much darker than the faded tank. I contacted the original owner who had a couple pictures of when the bike was new. It's almost a burnt reddish orange. I had a Pro do my paint job and it looks fantastic. Gary, I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond quicker but I'm a OTR truck driver and I left before your post last weekend and I just made it back home. The Dupont paint is called Hot Hues Sinful Cinnamon basecoat, part # 741512-HH. I used a silver under coat and 4 coats of clear on top. I had a pro paint it and I'm very pleased. I looked for months at paint chips PPG, Dupont etc and this is dead on compared to the color under the knee pads and a couple pictures the original owner had.
