I really like your bike! Great job on a budget! Before seeing your bike I never thought about painting mine white, now i am pretty sure i will. Did you use "Tremclad: Recreational White"?

I enjoy the solo seats myself, I'm thinking of getting an extra seat pan for my cb77, turning the back half into a luggage rack, and seeing what welding i can do to make the front half look a bit like a solo seat :P

I personally think it looks great considering what you where working with, i have a worse one to start with then you, i guess mine should have gone to scrap yard but im gonna give it a go to see it i can make it look halfway decent..... i like you am working on a poor mans budget, or should i say poor wifes budget. i think my husband thought i was crazy when i dragged it home:} oh well we'll see what happens. Anyway someone sent me your post to see if anyones done painted wheels as i was thinking of doing the same if they sand blast up kinda decent, even if i just use them till i get the money for chrome ones saved. heres my jalopee

not all of us are so anal about perfection.... on something 45 years old.[/img]

There is other hardware that needs attension like missing cotters in rear axle. I know I got a little too quick on posting pic's. Horn is also missing. Anybody have one? As you can see I was not trying to get it in factory condition.

welcome aboard diane, glad to see you take the task on.
I did a poor mans resto, and now 2 years later i'm taking it entirely apart again and doing a complete resto.
My advice is, if poor, simply take longer, but do it right the first time :P

spray bomb?

Post by linemup » Sat Jul 30, 2011 3:52 pm

So your entire bike (white) is spray can? Very nice. Did you sand blast chrome off of wheels prior to painting? I would love to know the brand name and color of your bike. Very nice. Ya know, base clear wasnt used back in the day. so. properly sprayed paint from a can will give a closer match to paint. Yes folks, some colars will.......primarily white.
