WTB oil slinger cap or whole assembly for a late model (67) superhawk.
This thing was suuuuper stuck on. i must of swagged the ID of the cap in pounding it out with a drift as i can no longer get the pin all the way though. it took a lot of force so I'm not surprised. the swagged area only accounts for about 15% of the journal surface so perhaps i should just turn a relieve into it and that would work?
I also dont understand the O-ring at the bottom of the cap? what a terrible design, or maybe thats just the o ring i got off ebay. it fits on that shelf terribly. it just pushes off the shelf when i put the cap in. would i be crazy to just use a thin trim of RT?
what was inside was pretty terrifying. 65 hawk with a 67 motor (maybe mix n match parts), history unknown. Id have to guess this slinger wasn't changed for thousands of miles of use. :(
Kind Regards,
Steve from CT

Bump as i'd still be interested in one... however our work machinist made it sound easy to fix. its a .551 hole (14mm) with about .001" - .0015" journal clearance. i swagged the first ~.075" of the cap by about .006" so the .550" post no longer passes through.
i think i figured out the o ring. it installs on the cap, not the housing. and seems to require you slide it over the OD of the cap and let it pop down onto the shelf as you slide it further. thanks gents. just gotta finish this, some tinkering with the carb for the new pipes and shes ready for some miles.
