cb 77 petcock

Post by dannysvintagespeed » Mon Oct 29, 2007 12:14 pm

Anybody know what other petcock I can use in place of the original 1967 cb77 petcock? Early cb450
or cb350 looks like they would work.I can find them NOS for around $50 but can seem to find an original Superhawk one.Any suggestions?

350 wont work because of the transfer tube, it is part of the 305 petcock and it's not on the 350 were it's a seperate fitting on the tank it's self. I am not a 305 expert yet so this info may be year or model specific. Anyone is welcome to chime in and correct me if I'm wrong!

Danny, It would really be worth the effort to try and locate another petcock for your CB77. I needed one for my curent project and called some bike salvage yards in my area. Found one cheap, needed a good cleaning but was worth the trouble to not have to "rig" somthing else in there. Kustommusic

CB77 Petcock

Post by dannysvintagespeed » Fri Nov 16, 2007 12:18 pm

Well I picked up a CB 450 petcock on E bay for next to nothing, doesn't have the crossover inlet, but I think I'd like to do away with that anyway. The outlets exit the left side instead of the right which I don't think will be a problem. If it doesn't work I'll only be out 10 bucks and if it does I'll let you guys know, might be a cheaper alternative. The body of my original was eaten away so it wasn't rebuild-
able. Thanks as always for the help....Danny
