Wanted! Right side crankcase cover

Post by block » Mon Sep 28, 2009 9:59 pm

One too many kickstarts has left my crankcase cover with a good size crack on my superhawk. If anyone has one to fit a cb77 that they are willing to part with, please let me know.

Kick cover

Block, how bad is the crack? It can't be welded and refinished? I have one that has a hairline crack that I was going to weld and polish up outside and web weld inside to reinforce around kick hole. Just a thought.

well, I guess I got some kick in my leg! That and a lot of no starts while trying to get this thing roadworthy. I did JBweld it back together as an experiment and got my clutch back. Sure isn't kick worthy though. Hopefully I can get it going reliably enough that no kicking would not be an issue.

kicker case

That's looks a little more than a good sized crack, looks like it's history. I have one that has a crack that you would have to know where it was to find it, it's that fine of a crack. Like I said in previous post it can be electric welded and finished off on the outside and spider welded inside and if you have a starter working should'nt have to kick it. I'll post a pic tomorrow.
