Wanted: CB77 sidestand

Post by oscillon » Sun Jun 19, 2005 9:26 pm

Hey Everyone.<br /><br />I have a 65 CB77 and I would like my wife to ride it. She is quite small and has trouble getting it onto the center stand. I was wondering if anyone has a side stand that they would be willing to part with.<br /><br />Thanks in advance.<br />Dan<br />

Hello Dan, The side stands are really hard to find. I understand they were an accesory item at the dealer. I recently bought a junk cb77 (for 150.00) just because it had a side stand, which needed to be straightened too! I had considered using it for a production model and making some, but it turned out to be crazy expensive so I just straightened it out and repainted it and put it on my cb77. So, if you do find one, great! if you find two,let me know ;) Good Luck, Steve Greer

I bought mine from Nick at Ohio Cycle last year. It's an aftermarket 'Rocky' brand that's probably NOS from the '60s -- still had the tag on it -- and it looks fine (at least to my eyes!). It cost me
$ 100.00, though I can't guarantee that he has any others (this may have been the only one). Give him a jingle and see....

Update -- I just found the tag that came with the stand, and it says "Rocky Motorcycle Parts Accessories, Redwood City, California, Side Stand, Heavy Chrome Plating, Honda CB-72/77, A 4551A." Original Price: $ 9.50.

Aren't you glad I hold onto these crazy things?????
