Battery for C77 Dream

Post by Gregg » Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:55 am

I need a battery for my restoration and was hoping someone could help. I live in Ontario, Canada and would like to purchase it at Canadian Tire. They have a large selection of MC batteries but, of course, their data base doesn't go back to the 1960's. Would anyone know the part # or a modern bike that would take a similar size battery? thanks. gregg

Well, if it's the same as a CB77 or CA77, then it would be a "12n9-3a". Near as I can tell, shouldn't be any different. Anybody got another opinion?

12n9-3a is too wide for slot on my Dream. A 12N5.5-4A fit and works for me.

The battery you need depends on the year model of your bike. The early models used MC12-4 (Honda part number 31500-259-000) then starting around mid year 1965 the Dreams started using the same battery as the CB line which was the 12N9-3A (Honda part number 31500-268-010).
