CB77 turn signals
CB77 turn signalsI'm putting turn signals on my 1966 CB77. For the rear, this means 4 wires going to the taillight area instead of 2. I had a really hard time pulling just 2 wires through the passage in the fender. I can't imagine how to get 4 wires through it. Any ideas?
Re: CB77 turn signalsAm I assuming correctly that you're going to mount the signals on the license plate bracket? Consider mounting them on the tops of your shocks. Wiring is a lot simpler and there are brackets for that purpose. Photos if you need them. Here you go. I ran the wires in shrink wrap along the main wiring harness to the headlight bucket. I bought an after-market handlebar switch that needed only slight modification. Here are the brackets: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-Superhawk ... _A&vxp=mtr
Seadog,
I made brackets yesterday and today. Photos below. Started with raw 4130 steel - wanted good strength where it bears on the narrow shoulder on the shock stud. Man - is that stuff hard to polish!! You sure are right about the wiring being easier this way - thanks a million for the idea!! When it's time for final install, I'll add heat shrink (and maybe caulk) to seal where the wires enter the taillight assembly. Phil
