Switching to plastic fuse vs. glass fuse?

While doing some troubleshooting to figure out why one side of my CB77 wasn't firing, the fuse blew. I tried finding a replacement fuse, but all the ones I can find locally are 15 amp, but are a different size than the one I pulled off of the bike. Should I spend more time hunting one down (buying one online,) or could I put in a new line fuse holder to switch to the flat plastic fuses?

the standard fuse is a fairly common unit from memory. You could replace the holder but In my opinion it would lessen the originality of the bike.

I did what your suggesting, and that is I went to the flat plastic automotive type fuse. My reasoning was such as you suggested, availability anywhere. I did keep the original inline holder and it is in it's place...but I'm not all about 100% originality, and besides (shhhhhh)...it's under the seat.

We must have plenty of old bangers on the road here. The glass fuses are sold at any auto store in Australia
