Battery on a budget
Battery on a budgetI have been running my CB77 on a battery borrowed from my SL350, which has lower capacity and only runs the starter under ideal conditions.
I am ready to upgrade to a real SuperHawk battery, but fear the days of a $10 JC Whitney special are gone. What is the cheapest source for batteries? Should I expect to pay $40 these days? You know, the whole bike cost me $20 some 30 years ago!
Ohio Cycle $30. Check to see if it ships with electrolite, the one I got didn't. It was only a few bucks to get it filled at a local battery supplier. I would check locally and see if you can find one first. You never know, you may get a deal and not have to pay shipping.

Phil, this seems to be the way to go, IMHO.
the agm battery in my yama vision just turned 8 years old! And I don't charge it, it stays charged. Now that being said I try to take it easy on the thing like if my bike is super cold and hasn't been started in 3 mo. I like to jump to the starter post from a running car, battery, I think is easier on the starter. my vision is not an easy starter
