With a rec/reg like the ones mentioned, could you run with the lights on all the time and not worry about being stranded(assuming everything else is in order)?
My Dream has been rigged to have the headlight on all the time. I know I can undo this, but I'm not sure I want to. Also, I just added rear turn signals. I've already installed the radio shack rectifier, but am always looking for upgrades.

The remaining 2/3 of the alternator capacity (pink wire) is tied into the yellow wire (through the ignition switch) when the headlight is on. So if you tie the pink and yellow wire together (headlight off) you get full alternator capacity all the time. Wired like this you would overcharge the battery unless a regulator is tied in somewhere to regulate voltage.

So, are you saying jumper the yellow and the pink at the ignition switch to get 3/3 alternator capacity full time? Then simply attach brown/red/yellow to the kohler regulator posts AC/B/AC, in that order?

That is the method I used on my CA-78 and my charging system has never worked so good. the reg. was mounted in the same place as the old stock rect. I added bar end signals to my bike and changed the controls over to a set from a CL-125 and now I have signals and headlight that don't kill the battery. my battery is also an AGM dry type. My bike now has lawn mower parts on it but it works great.
