Does anyone see a problem running one of these LiPo anti-gravity as long as I'm running a rec/ reg?

I do not see any issue. I spoke with the Anti-Gravity guys at the motorcycle show booth about using one in a Dream (when/if our JP-2 kicks the bucket), and he was explaining to me how people with all different kinds of vehicles and bikes were implementing them. There is virtually no place you can't mount them (as long as it won't get too hot by being next to a header, etc.). You can apply a pad of Velcro the same size as the large face of the battery, and literally stick it to a firewall, inside a side cover, to the bottom of a seat pan, etc.

My current plan is to mount it where the starter motor was, with the crazy idea of hiding it behind a chin scoop.

I take it you're building a vintage racer? No starter. Chin scoop. Sounds cool!
