coil meltdown
Finished bike last year and been riding pretty regular with minor problems nothing I could not solve. The other day started bike and moved from street to garage and once inside garage noticed that burnt electrical smell coming from bike. Opened up coil side cover and coil had started to literally melt down. Bike was shut off, quickly unhooked battery to save it. Coil was extremely hot and a slight melting had occurred near mounting bracket. I notice no loose or touching wires, or anything else unusual. Why would this happen all of sudden after using bike for several months. Following parts are all updated, coil, rectifier, electronic ignition, sealed battery. Was it just too much juice running thru it ??
