Remove coil from bracket?Remove coil from bracket?Hi! I'm replacing a stock coil on a '66 dream with one off eBay that some folks on here says bolts up to the stock bracket. Question is, how do I remove the coil from the bracket? It looks like it's held in by two rivets? And if that's the case (and I have to remove them destructively), what do I use to mount the new coil to the bracket? Bolts?
Thanks! David I just did one yesterday I cut the rivit heads off with cut off wheel and drove the rivit out with a punch, the mounting holes eye to eye on the new one didn't line up so bend the bracket sides in a little , be carfull it works fine, the coil I bought off eBay came with mounting bolts and nuts with maybe 1/2 inch spacers , throw spacers away and cut bolts or use shorter bolts! I can post pictures if you need
