does this indecate a short?

positive terminal disconnected,,, negative still hooked up....I get a 0.211 volt reading from positive wire {not connected to anything} to ground...does this say a problem? ....thank you ,,,,billy

Yes - probably with your meter......

Hold only the plastic part of the probes and touch the tips together. What reading do you get?

G's right. If you touch the test leads or make the connections with your fingers your body Is conductive. However small the amount.

thank you for reply,,, was only touching plastic,,,when i check for current the other way(positive hooked up negative in series with meter) no amp reading....billy
